A fé em Deus Pai todo-poderoso pode ser posta à prova pela experiência do mal e do sofrimento. Por vezes, Deus pode parecer ausente e incapaz de impedir o mal. Ora, Deus Pai revelou a sua omnipotência do modo mais misterioso, na humilhação voluntária e na ressurreição de seu Filho, pelas quais venceu o mal. Por isso, Cristo crucificado é «força de Deus e sabedoria de Deus. Pois o que é loucura de Deus é mais sábio do que os homens, e o que é fraqueza de Deus é mais forte do que os homens» (1 Cor 1, 25). Foi na ressurreição e na exaltação de Cristo que o Pai «exerceu a eficácia da [sua] poderosa força» e mostrou a «incomensurável grandeza que representa o seu poder para nós, os crentes» (Ef 1, 19-22). Faith in God the almighty Father can be tested by the experience of evil and suffering. At times, God can appear absent and unable to prevent evil. Now God the Father revealed his omnipotence in the most mysterious way, in the voluntary humiliation and resurrection of his Son, by which he overcame evil. For this reason, Christ crucified is “the strength of God and the wisdom of God. For what is foolishness of God is wiser than men, and what is weakness of God is stronger than men ”(1 Cor 1:25). It was in Christ's resurrection and exaltation that the Father "exercised the effectiveness of [his] mighty strength" and showed the "immeasurable greatness that represents his power to us, the believers" (Ephesians 1: 19-22).
