MARIA E A FÉ.
Imaginem uma garota de quatorze anos de idade diante de um Anjo que lhe diz: "Ave, cheia de graça, o Senhor é contigo". Como se sentiria alguém se um anjo lhe dirigisse a palavra? Mas ela respondeu com simplicidade, diretamente, ativamente, sem nenhuma falsa modéstia. Ela disse, "Seja feito conforme a Sua vontade". Incrível! Aí está essa menininha aceitando a vontade de Deus. A existência do mundo depende disso. Eu imagino, como havia sido prometida a José, o seu espanto com tudo aquilo. Por acaso ela discutiu? Quando sua gravidez se tornou mais evidente, e ela sentiu a criança se mexendo dentro de si, o que terá pensado? Isto é quase incrível, pois ela era igualzinha a você e a mim! Ela era uma pessoa, um ser humano; ela era possuidora de certas graças que lhe tinham sido concedidas, mas ela não era Deus. E ela não compreendia muitas coisas. Não era entendimento, mas um mergulho na fé! Quando nós temos dificuldades com a fé, deveríamos recorrer a ela e curvar-nos diante dessa pequena mulher menina, que verdadeiramente é a mãe de todos aqueles que crêem. Ela demonstrou uma fé além de nossa compreensão. Agora mesmo, e neste exato momento, eu convido você a entrar naquela solidão de fé, como fez Maria. Volte-se para ai mesmo e abra seu coração. Você realmente acredita? Tudo que você tem de fazer é entrar nessa solidão de fé, como fez Maria, e dizer sim! E isso é tudo.
MARY AND THE FAITH.
Imagine a fourteen-year-old girl standing before an Angel who says, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you." How would one feel if an angel spoke to them? But she replied simply, directly, actively, without false modesty. She said, "Let it be done according to Thy will." Incredible! There's this little girl accepting the will of God. The existence of the world depends on it. I can imagine, as Joseph had promised, his astonishment at all this. Did she argue? When her pregnancy became more evident, and she felt the child moving inside her, what did she think? That's almost amazing, because she was just like you and me! She was a person, a human being; she was in possession of certain graces that had been bestowed on her, but she was not God. And she didn't understand many things. It was not understanding, but a dip in faith! When we struggle with faith, we must turn to her and bow before this little girl, who is truly the mother of all who believe. She demonstrated a faith beyond our understanding. At this moment, and at this very moment, I invite you to enter that solitude of faith, as Mary did. Turn to yourself and open your heart. Do you really believe? All you have to do is step into that solitude of faith, as Mary did, and say yes! And that's all.
