In many countries, Football Associations banned women from any affiliated grounds for years, stating that the game was “quite unsuitable for females”, such as the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Nigeria, and Brazil.

As 2023 brings a Women's World Cup, a struggle continues off the soccer pitch that many are aware of; that is, the struggle against the gaping gender-based in the industry as well as other inequalities at the sport.
